Emily is an absolute angel. I went to her for the first time a couple of years ago feeling like I had tried absolutely everything after my acne had become so severe. I am happy to say that, other than the occasional break out, my skin is probably the clearest it’s ever been. She worked diligently with me to find the right solutions (which is not easy because my skin is so super sensitive). Not only is she so knowledgeable and talented but she is ethical and trustworthy. She never makes a recommendation or suggests a product that isn’t with the purest of intent. I highly recommend her.

Emily is a master in her craft! I’ve been seeing her for about a year now for facials and regularly for brow tinting and let me tell you – the girl has got the hands of an angel. Her space is super zen, smells amazing, such good energy, like the ultimate nap zone. She is super knowledgeable in all different skin types and product recommendations – I couldn’t recommend her enough! My first experience with Emily of Alamano Skin Care with nothing short of divine. From the moment I stepped into her serene room, my body and mind immediately relaxed. Surrounded by different shades of green, her studio is tucked away in the welcoming trees- one easily forgets they’re in a city. Sweet Emily invited me to get comfortable, take o my jewelry (+ charge them in a gorgeous selenite bowl!) and began to go over her intake questions. I learned so much, just with those first questions- and have already switched up the products I use, because Emily kindly shared with me that an acid in my face serum wasn’t the best for breastfeeding. Such helpful information, given in a compassionate way where I know it wasn’t about buying a new product- but rather a professional sharing her expertise, tailored to my situation. After our relaxed intake, I got ready for the experience I had been waiting so long for! To be honest, I was in such a deep state of relaxation that the rest of the treatment was a blissful blur. The steam experience took me to another dimension, and before I knew it, Emily was bringing me back to earth with *the most* incredible smelling products! All my senses were activated in the best ways, and I honestly wish the session was four hours long. Our session ended with the most incredible lymphatic massage, which helped ease tension and released some congestion. Overall, it was the best facial I’ve ever received, and I truly feel Emily is the most talented and professional esthetician I’ve ever known. Emily has completely transformed my skin! When I started seeing Emily I was dealing with acne along with severe congestion. Over the time I’ve been seeing her, she has worked both in sessions and in my home skincare routine to find things that work for me personally, asking questions about what products I like, how my skin feels, what I’m eating etc., and has given me tips based on those to help my skin. When I look back at pictures from before I started seeing her and now, I can see a huge difference! My skin is no longer deeply congested, I have a beautiful glow to my skin and the breakouts I do get are much less frequent or severe. Emily is such a master. She uses (and formulates) the most high end natural products that get results. She has a lovely space in a quaint old house that’s a healing center. Very centrally located in close-in SE, but quiet and so charming. I’ve never even seen other people in the house, it is private and chill. She offers sort of late hours so it’s really easy for me to get a session after work. Would recommend her to anyone, truly the loveliest service, the loveliest products, and the loveliest lady. <3

I LOVE Emily Alamano – she is the real deal! I came to her for a consultation because my skin had gotten much worse than ever before over the last few years, and I wanted to try some new products as well as gain a deeper understanding of what was causing my breakouts. Skilled, thorough, smart, good-natured and just so nice- (plus she made me laugh which is always a bonus). She went over my life in detail and presented reasonable “acne-safe” alternatives to all different aspects of my lifestyle. She was also excellent at doing extractions on me, washing my face and doing all the “esthetician” stuff that actually involves touching my skin. I felt totally comfortable the whole time, even while getting extractions done (which can be painful sometimes) and discussing things that have been uncomfortable for me to discuss with other clinicians in the past. I’m so glad I found Emily and booked a 75 min Signature Facial! I’m a nomad in Portland for a few months, so I wasn’t sure who to trust with my sensitive, hormonal acne-prone skin. Emily is the best. She will take the time to understand your skin and take an individualized approach to addressing concerns. She doesn’t stop at recommending skin care products, she also recommends cutting out other irritants (foods, detergent, shampoo) things you may not even think of as impacting your skin. Her space is warm and inviting, and she is honest and straight to the point! I have received multiple facials from Emily and am always so pleased with the outcome. I have sensitive skin and don’t especially like extractions. A lot of products tend to sting on my face. Emily has always been more than happy to accommodate and work with me to find the right options for me to have an amazing facial and get me on a good product regimen. I LOVE the products I get from Emily and swear by them! Over the years I’ve tried SO MANY things and nothing has given me the results like I have found with the products Emily has used and recommended for me. I don’t live near her studio anymore but do virtual consultations to make sure I’m using the right products. Emily is so great! She inspired me to overhaul my skincare routine close to a year ago. She’s completely changed my routine and awareness of what affects the skin. I had acne for 15+ years and it’s now under control and manageable for the first time in my life. I actually get compliments on my skin!!! That never would have happened before. As a sample of what we work on together, in our last session she hand made a hydrating mask, performed extractions, did an add-on LED, and then a mandelic peel. Even though I haven’t had many facials in my life, I can tell Emily is an expert in her field. And not only does she know her stuff, but she is kind, professional, and deeply nurturing. Before I received my first consult with her, I was washing my face with bar soap and she didn’t make me feel the least bit silly! Instead of intimidating me with a 14-step Korean skin-care regimen that would break the bank, she found a simple cleanser and moisturizer that both have made a huge difference in my face. I can truly see the results of better hydrated skin when I use it (coming from a gal who previously thought skin care was poppycock). I received a facial from her last week at her new studio and it was a lovely experience. Her bed was soooo comfy, I didn’t want to get up when it was over! I can’t speak to any of the technical products she used, but my face was absolutely glowing when I was done. She used some grapefruit mixture on my chapped lips which worked wonders and tasted great; and the gua sha felt heavenly. She tinted my eyebrows at my request, and though it took me a couple days to get used to them, a week later I’m in love and don’t want them to fade back to their blonde fishbone nothingness. I felt well taken care of the entire time; Emily’s attention to detail is delightful. She had soothing music, bolsters for me and my baby bump, hot tea, clean water, healthy snacks, and was highly attentive. The bathroom is adjacent to her studio which is highly convenient. Natural light floods the room during intake, and blackout curtain create a soothing cocoon-like feeling during the treatment. Parking was easy; I found a spot on the street right out front, and there’s a lot just across the street with free 2 hour parking. The grounds have well-established plants, with a soothing vibe. Emily greeted me at the front door so I didn’t have to navigate the building on my own, and walked me out as well. Emily also sent me home with original samples of dual-purpose cleanser and moisturizer!!

Perfect for a traveling gal like me who likes to keep things simple. I recommend the rose and frankincense combo (Emily is a wizard with fragrances. She knows the luxurious yet physiologically beneficial combos. I feel like a queen when I use her original products). All and all it was a restorative experience and I felt bolstered by her nurturing care. I finally understand why women get facials. Do yourself a favor and book with her.
